He was born in Bijar to a family of Kurdish Kabudvand chiefs in 1820. Ḥasan Ali's unusually broad education included Arabic and Persian composition, history, calligraphy, and perhaps some theology. Ḥasan Ali served sixty-four years under three monarchs of the Qajar Dynasty. He died in Ramazan in January of 1900.
